NOTE FOR LIP BLUSH: It is strongly recommended to take an antiviral medication prior to lip procedures to prevent cold sores. Tattooing has the potential to trigger the virus and compromise color retention. If you have a history of cold sores (even one!), please contact your doctor for Valtrex. This is to be taken 3 days prior to your appointment and 3 days after. If you’ve never had a cold sore or are unsure, it is strongly recommended to still take precaution. You may purchase over the counter L-lysine supplements and take 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after your procedure. Ensure you are very hydrated for this service and the lips have been exfoliated a few days prior.
POSTCARE
It is important to follow all the instructions your artist gives you. Instructions will be reviewed verbally at each appointment, as well as printed for you to take home after your first appointment. If you need another aftercare sheet after your first appointment we are happy to provide one! If you have any questions or concerns please reach out to your artist.
The healing period for all Permanent Makeup procedures is 7-10 days. The healing process and aftercare instructions are the exact same whether it is your first appointment, Perfecting Session, or a Color Boost appointment.
Refrain from the 4 S’s for 7-10 days: no swimming, sweating, sun, or shower!
- no swimming: you can relax water-side, but do not submerge your face in any pool/ jacuzzi/ beach water.
- no sweating: no heavy cardio. A light walk is permissible as long as sweat is not running down your face.
- no sun: wear a hat or visor during your healing period if you are spending time outdoors. After your healing period, daily sunscreen is recommended as sun exposure will fade your pigment prematurely.
- shower: do not let the shower water pelt your face. To wash your hair, tilt your head back and wash your hair behind you. Remove any makeup and wash your face with a washcloth at your sink while looking in the mirror so you can be sure to avoid your permanent makeup.
NO picking, peeling, scratching or rubbing the tattooed skin.
Apply the provided healing balm 1-2x per day, always with a clean q-tip to avoid contaminating your balm. Permanent Makeup may require more balm on days 3 and 4. Lip Blushing requires extra balm for the full healing period and can be applied as often as needed.
Nothing but the provided balm is to be applied to the affected area(s) for the duration of your healing period. NO makeup, skin care products, sunscreen, etc. other than the approved healing balm.
If swelling occurs after your procedure a gel ice pack wrapped in a towel is advised. Caffeine, alcohol, ibuprofen can be resumed after your appointment. Please refrain again 24 hours prior to your Perfecting Session and again before each Color Boost.
Healed results vary between clients. Please be aware that all permanent makeup may look dark the first few days. All tweaks, color changes, shape corrections, etc. cannot be done any earlier than the Perfecting Session.
Reach out with any questions/ comments/ things that are unclear. You are always welcome to contact your artist directly, or call the salon and the front desk may be able to answer your questions.
